"Dave House takes everyday life and gives it vibrancy throughout his excellent second solo album 'See That No One Else Escapes'. The honest, literal lyrics that hold this album together are engaging, charming, and not even slightly sensationalist. House comes from a grounded, DIY punk background, and this is prominent in songs such as the excellent pop-rocker 'All Ds, No Future' and 'Old Girl Back', a delicate, touching piano-only tune that brilliantly references the Jade Tree back catalogue. 'For An Afternoon' is reflective of his Billy Bragg fixation: such influences and the witty lyrics throughout making Frank Turner a kinsman if we go down the 'for fans of' road. But really, this could appeal to anyone. True stories set to music simple, but brilliant. - Rock Sound
"a wry eye for a lyric... the tracks I've listened to are all belters... moments of softness, moments of hardcore splendour... a very, very good album indeed" - Phill Jupitus, BBC 6 Music
"The thing that Dave does almost better than any other UK solo artist right now is tell a story. He has the ability to enchant and enthral and his songs have gained an even warmer edge to them, making them even more personable and enjoyable... a wonderful record and one everyone... should probably own, regardless of their musical tastes." - 4/5, Punktastic
"...few albums can make you think like See That No One Else Escapes does. It's perhaps not the best album to listen to if you're not at your best, as it really will make you stop and think, but in a time when we're surrounded by instant fix, all surface no feeling bands with music secondary to their hair, Dave House has a voice that deserves to be heard." - 4/5, rockmidgets.com
"thoughtful, honest and just plain pretty" - subba-cultcha.com
"...his ability to marry his punk ethic to a more summery pop sound is still very much intact. Proving himself as a high quality songwriter, he should pick up plenty of new fans with this album." - indigoflow.co.uk
"an endearing record that is a real grower and quite uniquely British in its approach" - new-noise.net
